On Friday, November 5th, Brian and I celebrated the US Marine Corps birthday with our Embassy co-workers and marines.
The ball was held at a beautiful hotel in downtown Jakarta. We had an hour cocktail hour before going into the grand ballroom where we sat with friends and enjoyed a speech from our US Ambassador and a Marine Corps ceremony. I think this was especially special for us because the Marines stationed in Jakarta live on our same compound and we know just how great they all are.
We sat with mostly our friends from our apartment complex. The ladies enjoyed a nice ride to the Ball while the boys had a great time in their Blue Bird Taxi....
We ate, danced, and had a great time. A great band that played until 2AM...unfortunately none of made it until 2AM. The ladies feet started to hurt after awhile....
I was excited about wearing my bridesmaid dress. Good chance to get more use out of the dress and to actually wear something that meant so much.
