So the funny thing about celebrating this anniversary is that we are celebrating on the 23rd of September in Jakarta, however, the actual time zone that we were married in, our 4 years is not until tomorrow.
So, two nights of celebrating!!! Our 23rd of September and your 23rd of Sepetember
(confusing, I know). Tonight we will dine at Lyon which is a restaurant in the Mandarin Oriental in Jakarta.
Books, Fruits, and Flowers are the theme for a 4-year anniversary (honestly, where do they come up with these themes?) But this theme seems appropriate for our 4 years as we book our 4-day vacation/anniversary trip for each other. We read our travel guide books and decided what better place than Lombok and Gili Islands where we will eat tropical fruit and be surrounded by beautiful, exotic, tropical flowers.
Lombok and Gili Islands are both just south of Bali and are both beautiful islands. We are staying in Lombok and taking a boat ride to Gili Island for the day (about a 15 minute boat ride). The neat thing about Gili Islands, no cars/buses. You can only reach the island by boat. Sidenote: If anyone out there has seen the TV series Thorne Birds, it's the place where Meggy is staying at the beach house when Father Ralph comes for his "visit."
We are staying at a beautiful resort and our suite is right on the beach...the glass doors open up to the water;
