Bixler's Sacred Masterpiece

So it all started a long time ago when my Aunt Barb was looking through old pictures at my Grandpa's house and found a picture that she thought my mom would like.  She saved the picture, framed it, wrapped it up, and sent it down to my mom to open on Christmas Day.  My Aunt Barb wrote a very special note to my mom about this picture telling her how sacred it was and how she wanted it to be displayed in my mom's house so that all could see.

Since that time, this sacred masterpiece had been re-wrapped and disguised or "hidden" within other Christmas gifts so that each year, one person in the family finds the picture and can proudly display it in their home for the next year...until it is wrapped and presented at Christmas time again.

Fast Forward to Christmas 2009.  Brian and I knew  we were the only people left in the entire family who had not yet received this beautiful picture.  We watched each gift carefully...making sure that we selected gifts that didn't have the shape or size of this picture.  You see, with this picture comes some responsibility to display and tell the story. Brian and I didn't know if we could handle the responsibility. Well, it was with much strength and determination (thanks Kim!) that Brian opened this gift in 2009.

So this blog is dedicated to our Bixler Family.  If there was any doubt that this masterpiece would not be shipped and displayed in Indonesia....this blog is to guarantee you that it was shipped, it was received, it is now being displayed on our shelf in the living room.  Who knew this picture would travel half way around the world.  Never fear Bixler family....the picture is here, safe, and will be displayed until Chrismas 2010.

Yes, this is a picture of a 3-legged cow.  My grandpa was a large animal vet.

All joking aside, a little piece of each of our Bixler family members is now with us while we are abroad.

With much love,
Natalie & Brian
